2010 NFL Draft Needs of the Oakland Raiders
Current Depth Chart of the Oakland Raiders
Offensive Tackle
Here are the Raiders’ current group of offensive tackles: Mario Henderson, Cornell Green, and Kahlif Barnes. That isn’t good. They should target the best offensive tackle available with their no.8 overall pick but with Al Davis’ track record he’ll probably just take the one that runs the fastest.
Defensive Tackle
The Raiders starting tandem of Tommy Kelly and Gerard Warren wasn’t getting the job done as opponents could run the ball at will against them. They should look for a big run stuffing defensive tackle who can clog lanes and free up their linebackers as early as the second round.
Defensive End
The Raiders have two aging stars at end with Richard Seymour and Greg Ellis. They added a nice piece in last year’s draft in Matthew Shaughnessy. They’d be wise to continue that youth movement by targeting an end early in this draft. They could have an elite pass rusher staring them in the face when they are on the clock that fateful Thursday evening in April, and Al shouldn’t hesitate taking one if there isn’t an offensive tackle available that suits their needs.
