Washington Redskins NFL Draft Team Needs

2010 NFL Draft Needs of the Washington Redskins

Current Depth Chart of the Washington Redskins

Offensive Tackle
This should be the team’s number one priority heading into the Draft.  Longtime starter
Chris Samuels could retire and an injection of youth is long overdue.  Their current starters
are a couple of cast-offs in Mike Williams and Levi Jones.  They need to get a young cornerstone to build this offensive line around and with the fourth overall selection they could have their pick of the litter.

Running Back
Clinton Portis has way too much tread on his tires and his best days are clearly behind him.  The rest of their backs are below average, and new head coach Mike Shanahan would be wise to use an early selection on a new feature back.  Luckily for him there should be a real nice one waiting for them in the second round.

Quarterback
Jason Campbell has shown flashes in his time in Washington but hasn’t put it together for an entire season or mulitple seasons.  In his defense he hasn’t exactly been in a stable situation as he has had a plethora of cooridantors to work with.  So the new regime will need to decide if Campbell is their man or if they should use a high pick on a quarterback they can groom to their liking.
