Each year the NFL Scouts get paid to find the
NFL Draft Sleepers. NFL teams make or break
their draft by finding hidden gems in the later rounds. NFL Draft Sleepers don't
necessarily need to be super-stars but role players who contribute on
special teams and add depth.
Below is a sneak peek at this years NFL Draft Sleepers.

Derek Lokey : Defensive Tackle : Texas : Ht: 6'2 Weight: 290 lbs.
Lokey has been a dominating defensive tackle in the Big 12 for the past 3 years. Lokey has been one of the best athletes on the Longhorns squad serving as a goalline fullback and long snapper. Lokey is one of the top pass rushing defensive tackles in the nation. Although Lokey has been overshadowed by fellow tackle Frank Okam, Lokey may turn out to be the better NFL prospect. |

Alvin Bowen : Linebacker : Iowa St. : Ht: 6'2 Weight: 218 lbs.
Bowen nicknamed the "Ace" has been the sparkplug for the Cylclones defense for the past 3 seasons. Led the nation with 12.9 tackles a game as a junior. Lacks the prototypical size of an NFL linebacker but his motor and hard hitting more than makes up for it. Could possibly make the switch to strong safety in the NFL. |

Joey Haynos : Tight End : Maryland : Ht: 6'8 Weight: 262 lbs.
Haynos bullies opposing linebackers with his huge 6'8 frame. Has gotten better each year at Maryland. Has very reliable hands, and descent speed for his size. Haynos could be somewhat of a project in the NFL, he will need to polish his skills both receiving and blocking. Haynos could be an NFL quarterbacks best friend in the redzone. |

Ricky Santos : Quarterback : New
Hamp : Ht: 6'2 Weight: 215 lbs.
Santos is a small school prospect who is at the top of the record books in most of New Hampshire's passing categories. He is a dual threat as he can beat you in the air or scamper for yardage and touchdowns on the ground. He is very reminiscent of Jeff Garcia, and plays with a lot of heart and drive. Whether it’s fair or not, his level of competition will lower the round which he is drafted, but Santos could end up being a steal.

Todd Blythe : Wide Receiver : Iowa St. : Ht: 6'6 Weight: 210 lbs.
Blythe isn't the speediest wide receiver
out there but he has some great ups and uses his big frame
to out muscle defenders to come down with the ball in the
endzone. He had a standout out 2005 season where he racked
up 1000 receiving yards and 9 scores. If it wasn't for an
illness which kept him out of many games in the 06 season,
(he still managed 8 touchdowns while only playing in 8 games,)

Tony Brinkhaus : Center : Minnesota : Ht: 6'3 Weight: 295 lbs.
Brinkhaus is the anchor on the Gophers offensive line. Will be very attractive to NFL scouts as a athletic center. Is able to play any position on the offensive line. Plays with a lot of aggression and has quite the mean streak. One of the best offensive lineman in the Big Ten. |
