DraftSeason: Damian, how tough is it for you knowing that you
will be going into the season as Albert Young’s back
up and that you won’t be “The Man” that the Hawkeye’s
offense depends upon?
Damian: Me and Albert will be
co-starters so I never considered myself as his
backup. If we played on different teams we could start
anywhere else in the country it just so happens we are
on the same team. I will be just as important in the
offense as I ever been this season.
DraftSeason: Do you feel you are big enough to be a feature back
for an NFL team, or would you say your niche in the
NFL may be as a 3rd down/change of pace back?
Damian: I don't
even want to get into NFL talk because I'm not there
yet I dont consider myself to be small. I think I am
short but not small. I'm 5'8 200 lbs. I personally
think they place too much on height because running
backs don't need to be tall, but thats just my opinion.
DraftSeason: You were moved to defensive back for a short spell
in the 2005 season, do you feel that has hurt your
development as a running back at all?
Damian: Me playing defensive never hurt my development if
anything I think it showed how athletic I am.
DraftSeason: Who has been the best player you ever faced during
your career at Iowa?
Damian: Matt Roth without a doubt.
DraftSeason: What has been your greatest on the field moment so
far in your career?
Damian: My sophomore year when I had my first career 100 yd game
against Minnesota. Also when we beat LSU.
DraftSeason: Who was your favorite team/player growing up?
Damian: Barry Sanders, I never really had a favorite team
growing up I've always just liked players.
DraftSeason: What are some things that you enjoy doing when you
aren’t playing football?
Damian: Video Games I am an avid xbox 360 player. I am a beast
at Gears of War, Halo 2, Madden those are my favorites
for right now.
DraftSeason: What is your all time favorite film?
Damian: The Usual Suspects.
