Fantasy Football thought for the day … July 29th

Closer look at the Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Rankings

We all know Andre Johnson is the first receiver to go off the board this year, but who rounds out the top five?  I think we can all agree that he’s followed by Randy Moss, Reggie Wayne, Larry Fitgerald, Calvin Johnson, Roddy White, & Miles Austin, but what order should they be drafted??  Moss has the potential for the biggest numbers playing in New England, but also is due for a meltdown.  Reggie has to be the most consistent of them all, but who wouldn’t be with Peyton throwing you the ball.  Fitzgerald is the big question mark this year.  In my eyes, he’s the top receiver in the league, but now he has Matt Leinart as his QB, and has shown to be average at best.  Maybe Leinart really buckles down this year and Fitzgerald doesn’t miss a beat, I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

The next group of receivers can go in a million different orders.  Calvin Johnson is a stud but plays for the Lions, Roddy White needs to see what Matt Ryan is going to show up this year, & Miles Austin only has one consistent year under his belt.

With all this said, I’m going to rank my 2010 fantasy football receivers as follows:

1. Andre Johnson, Texans
2. Reggie Wayne, Colts
3. Randy Moss, Patriots
4. Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals
5. Calvin Johnson, Lions
6. Roddy White, Falcons
7. Miles Austin, Cowboys
8. Sidney Rice, Vikings
9. Marques Colston, Saints
10. Greg Jennings, Packers

I’d take Brandon Marshall over half the guys on this list.
