DraftSeason: Todd, what are you currently doing to prepare yourself for the upcoming
2008 NFL Draft?
Todd: I signed with sports stars in Manhattan and I've been in Fairlawn,
N..J, training at the Parisi Speed School for the last month.
DraftSeason: One of the big knocks on you is your speed, what is your current
40 time and what number are you looking to get under come NFL Combine time?
Todd: That's what happens when your a white, 6'5" receiver. The last couple
weeks I've been consistently in the low to mid 4.5's. my best is a 4.52 at
this
point. With 3 weeks to go my trainer and I beleive I can get into the
high
4.4
range with some work on my start.
DraftSeason: It is no secret with your big size that you can go up and get the
jump ball. Do you see yourself as more of a redzone/deepthreat receiver
in the NFL or potential everydown receiver?
Todd: That's basically what I did in college, but I feel I have the hands
and ability to contribute regardless of the down and distance.
DraftSeason: Any certain NFL quarterback you would most enjoy catching passes
next year?
Todd: Brett Favre is a guy that all receivers would love to play with. He
has no
problem throwing it up and letting his guy make a play for him which
is something I've gotten pretty good at the last 4 years.
DraftSeason: Who has been the toughest defender you have faced during your
time at Iowa State?
Todd: No doubt about it, the 2 toughest have been my former teammates
Ellis
Hobbs,
now a starting corner for the Patriots, and Deandre Jackson. He tore
up a
knee
at the end of last season but he'll get signed this offseason and will
do
big
things for whoever signs him.
DraftSeason: With a total of 31 NCAA touchdowns, you're no stranger to the
endzone, you got anything up your sleeve when you grab that first NFL touchdown?
Todd: Ha, nothing specific. I will definitely hold onto that ball though!
DraftSeason: What do you like to do when you aren't playing the great game of
football?
Todd: I'm a big movie buff. Relaxing and watching a movie is my favorite
way of spending down time in between practices and meetings.
DraftSeason: Finally Todd, do you feel you are one of the most complete
recievers in this years draft? As it stands now, what round pick do you feel you
are worthy of?
Todd: I've heard I'm anywhere from a 3rd to a 5th round pick as of now. My
goal is just to go to the combine, show the scouts that I can run fast and
jump high, and then wait to see what happens. The rest is up to the coaches and
the teams. |
